Notarial Deeds

In some cases, documents are required by law to be executed notarially. In this event, a Notary Public must draft the document before it can be signed and witnessed in the presence of the Notary Public.

Documents that must be notarially executed are called notarial deeds and can include inter alia, postnuptial and antenuptial contracts, servitude deeds, cession of usufruct deeds, leases, trust deeds, and notarial bonds.

Notarial deeds are always kept by the Public Notary for safekeeping, and the Notary is also required, by law, to keep a protocol and register of all documents they draft and attest.
